I just realized, a thesis is not a thesis until I pick on a specific topic and study more detail on it, other wise its just going to be a huge design project.
I've been listening to what my studio lecturer says, and did what he told me to do... which I think, is by the book. My lecturer is too... narrow minded? Or maybe he's too focus on the design process. So I've been thinking, where is the fun in design without idea exploration, without studying the concept?
Ineed to focus on my thesis project. Narrow down the scope. What to study. What to focus on. How to achieve that.
I mean, I'm designing a Batik Centre for Kelatan, but yet I don't even know where batik originates, the revolution of the design, the usage of batik, etc. Its like I haven't been doing my homework at all.
But sometimes, all this study makes me think, "So what?". Yes, so I’ve studied all that, so what am I suppose to do with all this information? How do I translate them into design? I guess thats where the work truly begins.
So, seems like I have a long way to go! YOSH! Gambatte Hunny!
