The surge

The surge is what doctors call when a terminally ill patient gets a final surge of energy, so they get better before they get worse.

Its like a last glance at life before they leave. 

Its sad, really. It's like you're given false hope of a future life, when you've already lost them, only to be taken away before you, again.
