Racist much?

Let me start my rant with stating this, I'm a Muslim. In Islam we have many teachings (mazhab, as we call it). But all in all we still believe in the same god, and the basics of being a Muslim is still the same.

So my friends has been talking about one of her cousin marrying someone from different mazhab. Today is supposed to be the day the cousin get engaged but a few days ago the family just learned that the guy is from a different mazhab, so they cancelled the wedding.

So my friends we talking about this topic since morning and they all went on about how these people have their own agenda to convert people  and if we have relatives studying in al-Azhar University, we have to check wether they've converted or not. This guy (who's going to marry my friend's cousin) seems a bit suspicious because he’s rushing the wedding. According to my friend (read as - her speculation) its because they’re afraid the future bride would find out and change her mind.

Again, these people are still Muslim, they just believe in different mazhab, its not like they're from different religion. I just don’t think we should judge them like that. My friends went as far as saying 'They think they're the one who's going to heaven. Well, news check. They're not!'. WTH. You believe in what you believe, let them believe in what they believe. Besides we’re not even that religious to judge other people like that.

Why can't people be more open minded? I know, we might think other teachings is wrong but you just don't say that. People might say I'm too open minded, but I just think you shouldn't judge other religions like that.
