is tougher than I tought it would..

About my studies.

I went to Teikyo Institue the other day asking about their Jap programme. So actually, my parents finally gave me the green light to further my studies in Japan. We've been browsing thru a couple of places in Japan for EJU preperations and I must say Keio Uni has the best programme for Japanese studies (and its only 1 year!) But everything is too expensive so we decided to try local one, Teikyo Istitute instead. They're the only recognise institute in Malaysia by the Japanese (Monbukugakusho) and Malaysian Misnistry of Education for their pre-U Japanese programme.

So actually the place mostly cater for undergraduate students coz they'll prepare you for EJU exam and for JLPT 2 only. So if I'm gonna take my Masters in Japan, I have to go thru JLPT 1 coz its a must. They'll teach me until halfway thru 1 ( JLPT 2 and lebih sikit) but I have to learn the rest myself but the person incharge says, passing JLPT 1 is still possible. There are quite a number of students from the Institue who took JLPT 1 exam and pass. So mom says its okay, coz we can get a Japanese tutor for that later on. And maybe get my brother t help coz he passed JLPT 1 last year. (too bad my sister will be taking up to JLPT 2 only)

And theres another problem. The preperation will take about 18 months. I'll learn Japanese language + some physics and maths / sociology. After passing both exams (EJU and JLPT1) I have to go to Japan by myself and take the entrance exam. Well, actually I still have to search for my ideal uni and contact them. Coz appying for undergraduate and postgraduate course can be be different. I'll have to contact the professor or lecturer in charge of the their architecture deparment and ask about it myself. If lets say they say I can apply there are going to be 3 possibilities to how to apply.

The entrance exam is a must. So the next step is either one of these 3.
1. They'll make me take another exam especially for architecture or
2. An interview or
3. I'll have to be an assistance for the lecturer for 6 months 1st, so they can evaluate me.

Tough? YESS! But most likely they're going to ask for an interview. I think thats the easiest choice. They'll look at my design folio and ask a few questions. And I dunno how good my Japanese will be by then to go for an interview in Japanese. ^ ^;;

And theres another problem. The pre-U programme starts in April. So, I'll have to work and wait for another half year to sit for the programme. Oh..did I explain the programme? It'll be 18 month and full class from 8am to 5pm every weekdays. After some discussion with my parents, I think I'm going to give it a go. My parents are willing to spend their own money for the pre-U programme (which is pretty expensive), but I'll have to work extra hard and ask for the Monbukagakusho Scholarship which they give out every year for my studies in Japan. And theres a couple of other scholarships to Japan too out there.

So now, the plan is..work hard and keep more $$$ so I won't burden my parents so much next year...and hopefully enter the programme in April 2010! My mom says not to be so serius about studying, coz I'm a girl after all..but I feel like doing my best. And she says, she's letting me do this, just so I can have fun and for me to get what I want. She says don't worry or think to much of whats going to happen in the future. Go with the flow and have fun (coz she knows how much I want to learn Japanese). Thats what I'll do! I'll have fun learning Japanese and if I don't get accepted into their uni, I'll just go there, stay with my sister and work. Atlast I'll know how to speak Japanese by then. I'm actually surprise my dad agreed to this too coz he never really supports my Japan obsession. LOL.

I'll be forever gratefull and in dept to my parents. :)

Phew.. Long explaination huh? ^ ^;;
